About this tool
This tool creates QR codes for URLs, text, email, wifi etc. that can be scanned with a QR code reading application installed on a mobile device. So, instead of having users to enter details manually on their phone or tablet, you can simply create a QR code that they can scan and have these details saved automatically!
This tool works entirely on the client side, and does not transmit any information to the server.
To use this tool, select the type of data that you want to put in the QR code, fill in the details and click on "Create QR code".
What is a QR code?
QR code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional type of matrix barcode which is readable by mobile devices and QR code readers. It is a machine-readable optical label that may contain various type of information. It was first designed to be used by the automotive industry in Japan and quickly became popular all over the world. A QR code has excellent error correction capability due to which it can even be read successfully even if a considerable part of the qr code is covered or damaged.
Background color: Specifies the background color (which is the area that excludes the array of squares) of the QR code.
Foreground color: Specifies the color of the array of squares that represent data in the QR code. Note: Please select colors for the QR code carefully! Not all color combinations will be readable by a QR code reader.
Error correction: There are four levels of error correction which denote the amount of damage that can be sustained by the QR code while still being readable. The levels Q and H almost never need to be used, unless intended for use in industrial environments where the damage can be very high.
